The Faber Shield is the committee which runs the York Conservative Club Snooker and Billiards Leagues. It consists of a representative from each participating club, the Secretary (Richard Lillie), Treasurer (Clive Whyte) and Chairman (Alan Reed). The Faber Shield currently run the following competitions:
A league consisting of 8-10 teams. Teams consist of four players and a point is awarded for each frame won. Prizes are given to the league winners.
A handicapped league consisting of 5 teams. Players play to 150 points up. Since the 2010-11 season teams have consisted of five players (previously six) with one point per game and one point is awarded per game for the team with the highest aggregate score.
Teams consist of 10 players and play 5 games of pairs snooker. A point is awarded for each frame won.
Individual knockout competition open to all league players.
Handicapped individual knockout competition open to all league players.
A handicapped individual knockout competition open to all league players. Players play to 165 points up.
Run by Bootham Conservative Club in memory of a previous president, this is a knockout competition consisting of the winner of each club's individual snooker champion.
A knockout competition consisting of the pairs winners from each club's annual pairs competition.
